Frequently Asked Questions
Can I contact you outside office hours?
Yes. You can contact us by telephone, email, our online enquiry form, WhatsApp or Signal. If we're unable to respond immediately, we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
How quickly will you respond?
We aim to respond to all enquiries promptly, often on the same day. Response times may vary depending on the time of your enquiry and operational commitments, but we'll always endeavour to respond as quickly as possible.
Will my enquiry remain confidential?
Yes. We understand that many enquiries involve sensitive or personal matters. All enquiries are treated with the utmost professionalism and confidentiality. Your information will only be used to assess your instruction and provide our services.
How do I instruct Eastern Region Investigations?
Simply get in touch by telephone, email, our online enquiry form, WhatsApp or Signal. We'll discuss your requirements, answer any questions you may have and, if you're happy to proceed, we'll confirm the details of your instruction before any work begins.
Do I need to provide identification?
Depending on the nature of the instruction, we may ask you to provide identification or supporting documentation as part of our identity and due diligence procedures. We'll advise you of any requirements during the consultation process.
How do I pay?
Once your instruction has been agreed, we'll advise you of the available payment methods and any payment terms that apply. Payment requirements may vary depending on the type of service being provided.
Can I cancel my instruction?
If you wish to cancel your instruction, please contact us as soon as possible. If work has not yet commenced, cancellation is usually straightforward. Where work has already begun, charges may apply for work completed or costs incurred. Full details can be found in our Terms of Business.
What if I'm not sure which service I need?
That's absolutely fine. You don't need to know exactly which service you require before contacting us. We'll take the time to understand your circumstances, discuss your options and recommend the most appropriate course of action based on your individual requirements.
Can you spy on someone?
No. Eastern Region Investigations does not undertake unlawful or intrusive activities. All services are carried out lawfully, ethically and in accordance with applicable legislation. If you're unsure whether we can assist with your circumstances, please get in touch and we'll be happy to discuss your requirements.
Can you track someone's phone?
No. We do not access mobile phones, GPS devices or electronic accounts without lawful authority. If you have concerns about someone's whereabouts, we may be able to discuss lawful alternatives depending on your circumstances.
Can you hack emails or social media accounts?
No. We do not hack or gain unauthorised access to email accounts, social media accounts or computer systems. However, where lawful and appropriate, we may use specialist investigative tools and open-source intelligence techniques to identify publicly available information and connections between online accounts.
Can you find someone's address?
In some circumstances, yes. We offer lawful tracing services to help locate individuals where there is a legitimate reason to do so. We'll discuss your requirements and carry out appropriate checks before accepting an instruction. Find out more about tracing...
Can you investigate a partner's suspected infidelity?
We may be able to assist with lawful investigative enquiries depending on your circumstances. Every enquiry is assessed individually, and we'll explain what services may be appropriate following an initial consultation.
Can someone refuse service of legal documents?
Yes. A person can refuse to accept legal documents. However, refusing to accept them does not necessarily mean that service has failed. Whether service is effective depends on the type of document being served and the rules or requirements that apply to that particular document. For example, the Civil Procedure Rules provide specific requirements for personal service and other methods of service. Refusing to take the documents is therefore not, by itself, necessarily enough to prevent valid service. Learn more here
Will you tell me if you can't help?
Absolutely. If we don't believe we're the right company for your instruction, we'll tell you honestly. As a member of the Institute of Professional Investigators (IPI), we have access to a network of trusted investigators and specialists across the UK. Where appropriate, we'll be happy to recommend a more suitable provider or point you in the right direction. In many cases, we can also manage your instruction through our trusted professional network, allowing you to deal with a single point of contact throughout the process.
